Dear Friends of SHR,

Are you starting to feel the changes?  The weather is getting brisk, schools are back in full-swing and the stores are putting out holiday decorations.  With the changing of the season it reminds us that the New Year, (yes, that's right 2010) is not that far away.  It is a great time to evaluate for the upcoming year and make some of those changes you've wanted to make in your practice.  Perhaps you want to look at a new software system, evaluate an EMR, have a coding audit done to alleviate the feeling that you're leaving money on the table, analyze your billing practices, conduct a patient satisfaction survey, add an ancillary service, hire a new employee or simply spend some time on communication or customer service techniques with your current employees.  Whatever the change may be, thoroughly evaluate the impact on the business and strategically initiate the change to ensure that the outcome is positive.  Change can be scary but it can also be a very rewarding experience if the process of change is well thought out.
